This weekend has been a surprisingly busy one. The town we live in has a rather odd ordinance of only allowing rummage sales during one weekend of the year. And, as we have just bought a house and do need to update and repair it some, we went rummaging to procure goodies for this feat.
Granted, it may not be exciting to most people, but I had a blast. We managed to get pick up nearly enough supplies to completely remodel the master bathroom. Brand new toilet, internal pieces, and caulk, picked up for less than $30. And we also picked up a snazzy new light fixture, and heating vents (that match,) too. But, my excitement came, more so, from the books we found. We found The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, a book on cartomancy, the book for the Motherpeace tarot deck, the Russian Tarot of St. Petersburg book and card set, and a hefty tome on Aromatherapy. Combine this with acquiring the first 5 books out of the Dune series this last week (thank you! :D) and my library contents currently have me in a state of bliss. Ah. Now, if only I didn't have school to worry about I might be able to squeeze in some recreational reading time (nevermind the four kids 5 and under or having just bought a house that needs a tad bit of repairing.) Perhaps next semester. |
