Developing Divine Relationships will equip you with the skills and knowledge to respectfully approach the Gods and begin forging deeply tranformative relationships with Them.
Through 6 weekly lessons with weekly real time chats, you’ll explore the basics of devotional practice, discover which God or Gods to first approach, and learn to recognize the many ways that direct experience with the Gods can manifest. You’ll develop a firm understanding of how to approach new deities, the obligations that come with different types of relationships, and how to develop kharis—divine reciprocity.

As an introductory course, this course is designed with the beginner in mind. This course is ideal for someone new to Paganism and/or polytheism, who is looking to build a rewarding devotional practice with the Gods, or who has begun a relationship with the Gods but is looking for ways to further strengthen that relationship.
This course is not framed within the context of any one tradition (i.e., Heathenry, Hellenism, Kemeticism, etc.) but, rather, is nondenominational, allowing it to be used as a basic primer to approaching the Gods regardless to which tradition you may find yourself called. Please note that this course is rooted in polytheism—the belief in many, living Gods. All material and exercises are written from the understanding that the Gods are many, distinct, and autonomous. The Gods are not archetypes, They are not facets of one God or one Goddess, nor are They flavors of energy and such viewpoints will not to be discussed throughout this course. |

This course is conducted through email and optional, but recommended, live weekly (text-based) chats. Upon enrolling, you will receive a Welcome Message with further details of what to expect and how to access the chats. There are no additional materials to purchase for the course, however, you may wish to have a sturdy notebook and pen in which to jot down thoughts, explore journal prompts, and record your experiences in completing the exercises in each lesson.

Developing Divine Relationships has been exactly the nudge I needed to move from occasional, casual correspondences with deities to a more regular devotional practice. The weekly classes share clear, experiential wisdom paired with practicable exercises that guide you to evaluate your divine relationships, the baggage you probably bring to those relationships, and how to encourage and support those relationships.
One’s evolving spiritual practice is hardly ever a straight path and this course does not suggest a universal goal in developing divine relationships. Instead, DDR inspires you and provides a compass to discover (and take!) the next steps along your individual path. For me, that felt like “two steps forward, one step back” to move past the plateau I’d been traversing. The weekly live chats and the whole Winding Way community have been incredibly encouraging, empathetic, and supportive through those inevitable “one step back” moments. The Work may never be “done,” but I believe it can be more fulfilling and more fun; my experience of DDR has been both! -Derek

Let's be frank, there is a lot of complete gutrot on the internet about working with the Gods. From the Instagrammers who seem to ask a different deity for a favour every week, to the life coaches who tell you that you, yourself, are a goddess, it's hard to know where to start in working with the Divine.

I highly recommend this course to anyone who is interested in Deity work and polytheism, but doesn't know where to begin. Lady Althaea breaks it down in to manageable, meaningful steps, making it easy to go from researching Deities, to actually reaching out and communicating with Them. I’ve taken several amazing courses from Althaea (well, they all are amazing!), and this one was no different. I started the course a complete beginner to Paganism/polytheism.
