This essential oil is great for reducing germs in the air, it is also beneficial for colds, especially in the sinuses and for chest congestion. Take care to only use oil that is labeled essential, obviously, petroleum based synthetic oils will not have the same effect.
To Use: You will need an oil warmer, any type will do. Place a small amount of water in the bowl and add a few drops of the oil to it. Light the candle below. The heat from the flame will evaporate the oil, releasing it into the air.
This oil can also be used topically, but it must always be diluted (a chemical burn may result if applied undiluted to the skin. General guidelines for diluting essential oils is 20-30 drops to 1/4 cup of a base oil, such as Olive or Almond (these are my two favorites for general use on the skin. There are many other that are suitable and even plain ol' Vegetable Oil will work in a pinch.) Never use Eucalyptus Oil topically on small children or those with sensitive skin and never ingest essential oils unless directed to by a certified Aromatherapist, Herbalist, Naturopathic Doctor, or Medical Doctor with the appropriate training.
Incredibly simple, any type of Onion will do. Just cut the Onion in half and leave it sitting out. Bacteria will be drawn to the Onion and will collect upon it. Replace daily, just toss it in the trash or compost.
